Has anyone heard if all the in-boundary kids got in this year? If not, how many extra applicants there were? Thanks! |
They haven't done the lottery yet. I think it will be next Friday but am having trouble getting an answer. |
PP here. I also asked how many families had applied for in-boundary pre-K spots and was told they could not give me that info. The DCPS office told me that there was no reason not to, and the reason Murch gave seemed to boil down to "we don't want to count them". Sorry to vent but I have found Murch's main office to be unhelpful verging on hostile, with really no provocation, and am getting depressed about sending DD there. |
Slightly OT, but we received word yesterday from Lafeyette. Around 80 kids for 60 slots. |
And, when the Murch lottery takes place, do you know how we'll be notified? Is it just posted at the school?
Thanks! |
Murch sends out letters re: preK lottery results. |
Re Lafayette, did you hear whether you got in or just how many kids were entered in the lottery? |
re Lafayette...both. It was a list explaining how many forms they received and indicating that the first 60 on the generated list had slots. |
Thanks! |
how many spots does Murch have for preK? |
Anything been heard on in-boundary yet? |
We called today and were told that letters would go out by the end of the week. Would love to know sooner though--we have to let a backup school know on Friday. |
do the in boundary kids get picked up first? |
I think priority is in-boundary siblings, then out-of-boundary siblings, then in-boundary non-sibs. It stops there for most of the better schools although there are sometimes spots for out-of-boundary non-sibs in later grades. |
Are you saying out-of-boundary kids get into the local public school program before in-boundary kids?! Does anyone else know if that is true? And if so, how does anyone ever get their poor first child in anywhere in this town? |
