|
Oh, pul-lease. If life and an absolute answer were there for all to see.
Put down that glass of wine and find a constructive hobby. |

| None. The kid has to do it. |

This is a fake post designed to bring out the worst in everyone. Don't take the bait. |
| Leave them in the forest to be raised by wolves. |
Just label the box right and it should get there in time
Seriously, you as the parent have so much more influence on whether your child goes to a good college than any school in the world. But that is a responsibility many parents are unhappy to face... |
| Annoying Mom. Poor DC. |
| If you could not do it, why do you think your kid can? |
| This is one of the stupidest questions I've ever seen posted on DCUM...and that's saying A LOT. |
| But it seems to be a common question, judging from other posts. I don't think she's the only one wondering, I do think she's the only one asking point blank.... |

I'm going to make a lot of generalizations here so please don't get upset with the micropoints, I'm making a comment about the big picture:
The irony in all this is: Students who attend the "top" private high schools in the area, might have a "better" education but they also have more competition from their peers for spots at the Ivies. Since colleges do like to "spread the wealth" with their spots, a student from a "less top" high school who takes AP classes and has great recs, often has a better chance than a student from a Big 3 who is competing with 5 other classmates. There was a recent story on this issue in the Post... So, to the OP - just find the best K-12 school for your child |
| This person is really only putting it down in words what lots of people really think but won't actually say. |
