I wanted to love it - I really did. But it's a mess. It's like Misfits (UK) meets X-Men but with the worse parts of both.
No team unity, everyone getting in everyone else's way. Barely any high level powers (the kind you need CGI for) and there were at least 3 subplots that weakly tied together into the main plot and were just useless. |
| LOVE it! Watched the whole season. It’s like watching a movie. |
| I really liked it. Not familiar with the comic book so just basing this on the show. I didn’t know anything going in, so Pogo really threw me off when he came in, but I got over it. I liked the quirky characters, especially Five and Klaus. I guessed about Vanya as soon as I saw her take that first pill, so that was a little too obvious. That ending!! They better freaking bring it back for season 2. That was torture. |
| First episode was kind of slow, but I'm into it now. Pretty cool so far. 4-5 episodes in |
| Liked it. Felt it needed tighter editing. Interesting story. Disappointed by ending. LOVED Hazel and Cha-cha!!! |
| I tried. |
Yes, completely agree! And i am not a huge superhero movie person. Love the music. |
| Love it! A little disappointed in things being unresolved at the end of the season but I wasn't surprised. Also spent a fair bit of time getting irritated with Ellen Page's character until it becomes clear why she acts the way she does. Loved Hazel's story line as well. |
Well, Gerard Way did create and produce it. Better have great music. It’s on my list to watch after I finish up You. |

I’m watching! I have two episodes left and things are getting kind of confusing with all the time traveling, but I still like it. I also guessed right away there was something about Vanya that was being supressed, and aside from her, Klaus and Five it doesn’t seem that the others have any great super powers. What exactly is Luther’s “power”? He didn’t become the ape-man until the father injected him as an adult. And Diego is just,.. what? Good at throwing knives? That is a learned skill, not a power.
Oh well, it’s different and fun, I’ll keep watching! |
See - I hated Hazel's story line. I just thought it was another useless sub-plot. Cha-cha was badass but seeing her continuously getting beaten got on my nerves. She was the better fighter, more intelligent, and loyal meanwhile Hazel was going after a woman that was so...ugly and twenty years his senior. I thought they had a weird partnership that worked, but I would have been happy for them just to die off in the first three episodes. RE Ellen Page - they could have saved us four pill-popping episodes and made the villain one of the 35 other umbrella kids. |
We find out that Diego's superpower is more about his accuracy than the object he throws. Anyway I agree. Number One - Luther (Super-strength - apeman) SUCKED Number Two - Diego (Knife-thrower) No complaints / LOVED HIM Number Three - Allison (Mesmerizing) WASTED POTENTIAL Number Four - Klaus (Necromancer) WASTED POTENTIAL Number Five - Five (Doctor Strange) PRETTY GOOD Number Six - Ben (Monster transformer) WASTED POTENTIAL Number Seven - Vanya (Music maestro) SUCKED Anyone find the CHILD counterparts to the adults more intriguing? And honestly Ben (the asian who was basically in Klaus' head the whole time) was my favorite 'epic kid that got shelved'. They need to do something more with him in Season 2. |
+1 I was intrigued and got through the first episode, but don't think I will bother with the rest. A little too heavy-handed. |
I loved that part. You must be young and beautiful. Nice to see a guy fall for an average older woman!
