Any word on where the second campus is headed?

+1, would love to know if there are any rumors. I just want to finalize my list.

I don't know the specific location, but this teacher job ad says it's zip code 20020:

PS: Which I now realize covers a huge area, so that's not particularly helpful. Sorry!

They will have an announcement by Feb 26th.

The announcement also says southeast DC, so that takes out much of Ward 7.

I read recently about a new charter going near Ft. Davis area, East of Ft. Dupont. Not sure if same school or not.

Ward 7 is almost exactly divided between NE and SE.

Who are you. Lee administration?

If they dont have anything locked in by when the lottery closes they can only create a waitlist. The next dcpcsb hearing is Feb 26. I'm assuming the PP is guessing with that as a milepost

It's the 26th. Anyone have the address?

One of the closing Chavez Schools is in Southeast -- Capitol Hill southeast between the Potomac Avenue and Eastern Market metros.

To the poster who surmised that they were waiting for the PCSB hearing, perhaps Chavez just had to go on the record first for their campus closure/consolidation amendment and note that they were pursuing new tenants for the closing campus.

Hmmmm.... well, if it is a current charter school space, National Collegiate and Democracy Prep are closing charters with facilities that would be available. National Collegiate is closing at the end of next year but they aren't taking in new students, so there'd be partial space next year and more room to grow the year after. Democracy Prep is closing outright at the end of this year. They have a decent elementary school building.
