A fun question about "Friends" for those who watched it when it first came out

I watched Friends when it came out originally, (fyi for you youngsters, waiting each week for the next episode). At some point I stopped watching (maybe a little before Rachel gets pregnant...I can't remember)

Now, when watching with my DD on either the TV or her computer, I noticed even in the early episodes, you can see nipple outlines on esp. Rachel but I think maybe Monica too. I just do not remember this AT ALL; this is something I would have totally remembered as that would have been really racy or cutting edge back in 1994; on TV during "family" hours.

So my question is...is it because our TVs now have better definition? Or has it been added in after the fact? Did you remember noticing this when watching it way back in 1994 onwards?

I was watching it on one of those older smaller non flat screen TVs. There’s no way I would have noticed that but maybe the guys did?

I was living in Boston with 4 roommates, paying $180/month in Boston! with my own room, we definitely did not have a tv that allowed for noticeable nipple definition, but we did have a contest to see who could bring home the weirdest porn movie that year. We watched Great Grandma Gets Her Cookies, and never mentioned that contest again. That's what I think about when I think about Friends.

I remember that from when it originally aired lol, especially Rachel. I'm female, pretty sure my husband noticed too. I think I even commented that it seemed like a wardrobe malfunction.

I remember thinking the same thing and joking about it with my mom, "headlights on!" and I stayed up to watch it on Thursday nights. I was 10 in 1994. It was definitely a thing back then too.

Yeah, but that was before all bras were padded to prevent this. Seriously, I was a C cup in high school (so I did not want more padding) when Friends was new, and non-padded bras were of much thinner material then.

They’ve always been there. I have always noticed them and I grew up overseas and watched it on semi-reliable cable.
