Trump voters getting tax shock and regretting their votes

Anonymous
Caveat emptor - these tweets from Trump voters who are now socked with higher tax bills and are mad at him are just too rich. Expect more disgruntled voters in the coming weeks and months as the full effects of the tax scam bill become apparent as people fill out their taxes. And it's not just blue state voters who are getting higher bills.

Isn't that why Rs lost many of their House districts in 2018?

I wonder if folks are seeing an actual increase in total taxes paid or just an increased bill (or decreased refund). I.e., is it possible their checks were higher all year and now they're getting hit with a higher bill and thinking their taxes are higher?

aww does Faux news have anything to say about this?

Elections have consequences. People need to pay attention to pocketbook issues, and not just get riled up by social wedge issues.

Doesn't matter, the GOP already lost the messaging battle. No one like to cut a check for $4-5K because the withholding tables were f#cked up by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

The vast majority of Americans - especially Red State Republicans - can't budget for that kind of fiscal shock, sadly.

Most of these regretful voters are more than likely living in blue states. But it's hard to feel that sorry for them. They voted for a crooked businessman and got shafted.

Some, but not all. TX has very high property taxes to make up for the lack of income tax. UMC people with valuable homes in TX are certainly getting burned. So are UMC people in states where the property + income taxes exceed $10K. That's a lot of doctors, lawyers, and accountants in Red States.

Like said, everyone is getting sticker shock. 98% of people would prefer to have the proper withholdings throughout the year, instead of having to cut a big check in April. It was a fake tax cut.

Well yes, it had been pointed out that the withholding tables were underestimating the tax burden of many Americans months ago. But guess which party didn't want to fix the tables until after the mid-term elections? [Hint-it was the one that lost anyway.]

Let me clarify... I don't feel sorry for these regretful Trump voters who are now getting sticker shock.

Are the tables being adjusted this year?

Why didn't they figure it out earlier? We ran the withholding calculator and adjusted accordingly last year.

They are finalized, so I would think employers should be implementing them properly for 2019.

I guess our paychecks will decrease in 2019?

Florida is another state with high property taxes.
