I know it is super hot and gone in seconds... it says the lottery open until 2/15... Does it mean I can enter any time before 2/15 and the finally will be drawn on 2/15?

The agency that runs this was shut down all of 2019 until ~5 minutes ago and is currently trying to catch up on much more important work than the egg roll. I'm sure they'll announce a registration date soon. This took 2 seconds on google to figure out.

I am a very liberal person who loathes Trump. I went last year with my family as a guest of a secret service agent who has served many presidents. It is a cool thing to do, we just avoided the Betsy Devos book reading event. We didn't come across anything Trump other than the commemorative eggs which my children bang around and ding the paint on today. The White House is still the White House. It was something I went to with my sibs parents and all the grandkids and had the opportunity to go by skipping the line.

We went and it was great. I think not everything has to be politicized. I seriously considered boycotting the whole family event and refusing the invitation because of Trump but felt at the end of the day I was being melodramatic and I was right. Having gone that would have been ridiculous.

OP my one piece of advice is to bring food. The only sign of Trump level dysfunction was the fact that the only available food were boiled eggs on sticks and a cookie decorating party.

To be fair I went to egg rolls under Bush 43 and Clinton and there was no food at those either.

I am also super liberal and trump makes me nauseous. I’ll be entering the lottery again this year (no luck in previous years) because my kids are the perfect age to enjoy it and it’s a tradition that should be above politics. I’ll try to do as pp and avoid the political players.

Also loathe Trump. Have tried every year to get in with no luck until last year. And apparently some people who get tickets through contacts couldn’t give them away last year. Decided to go and fortunately our time did not coincide with his visit, and there was no other sign of him other than his signature on the eggs they give out. My DD enjoyed it so we will probably try again this year.
