| We need more Progressive leadership in this district. |
Disagree. In fact, disagree 100%. Beyer has a spectacular voting record, an excellent record on introductions and sponsorships, and is exceptionally helpful on constituent inquiries. |
then primary him. |
| Are you kidding? He’s been in the minority’s party until now. What on earth else did you expect him to do? |
Bollix. You don’t like Beyer because he’s old, white, rich and a good rep. Progressive is a dog whistle for a POC with a sexual aberration. |
Levine and Hope had their chance - Beyer beat them. Much harder to beat him now that he is an incumbent. Give it up. |
I doubt very much that you are an 8th CD Dem. When Beyer first ran he faced Bill Euille, who is AA but not really more liberal than Beyer, Mark Levine who is white, progressive and gay but who was not opposed on the latter grounds (and is now in the House of Delegates) etc andP Patrick Hope, white and progressive and also in the House of Delegates. I have no problem with Beyer - and he would have nothing to do with your vile comment. |
| I’m as progressive as they come (at least in Virginia) and think Don Beyer is fantastic. Follow him on social media, and you’ll see what he’s doing to make a difference. I wish we had more like him! |
| He's old and in the way. Needs to go. What did he even do before being elected, did he hold prior office? |
Ran the family business- Don Beyer Volvo. |
| Also he was ambassador to Switzerland during Obama era. |
| Well then, I stand corrected. I'm sorry for my ignorance. |

I think Beyer is just fine. I like seeing him interviewed and, as a PP has mentioned, he has a great voting record. I moved a few years ago and ended up in Connelly’s district (who is also good!) and can’t complain about either rep.
Now Mark Warner on the other hand sometimes grinds my gears. |
He needs to go back to selling Volvos and Subarus |
| Beyer was VA's lt. gov. in the 1990s and lost the 1997 governor's race to Jim Gilmore. He won this House race b/c it was a 7-way race and the more liberal candidates split the vote. He is a decent enough guy but is as establishment as they come. Given this is a safe seat, its holder should be a progressive leader. We can do better. |
