I used to live in SC. There are like 6 Jewish people in the state. And this is par for the course. They take their evangelical nuttiness very seriously.

It's not just Jews (or Muslims, Sikhs, etc.) who that agency at the heart of this case refuses to work with. They also don't like Catholics and will not hire them nor place any children in a Catholic household.

I don't think Catholics are superior to Jews or Muslims etc. in terms of who deserves to be discriminated against. But I do know there are a lot of posters on DCUM who are concerned about anti-Catholic bias in this country and I thought they should know that the Trump HHS has basically said it's okay for taxpayer dollars to go to a group that thinks your religion is fake and don't think you're decent enough to foster children in need.

I’m Indian, not racist towards my own people and just noting that for Indians to win in conservative states, they need to hide their Indian heritage to a certain degree.

This is true for any nonwhite person. Conservatives don't consider you a "real" American if you have an ethnic sounding first name. Look at every black Republican. They all have "white" sounding names.

My nephew and his wife adopted a child who was a residence of the adjoining state, they could have done the adoption through either state but opted for their own because the agencies in the other state asked a lot of religion questions, which offended them.
