Recent Feedback on Camp Letts?

Hi-I'm looking for some recent feedback on Camp Letts - summer 2017 and 2018? There was a mix of positive and negative reviews on campratingz.com. TIA.

DD went in 2018 and thought it was okay. It was a very hot week, which didn’t help. She also has been to Girl Scout Camp, which is much more rustic. She was pretty lukewarm about Camp Letts.

Anything specific that she noted?

My child has been going for 6 years. His brother goes to a more exownsive/fancy camp, and we offered him the same, but he lives Camp Letts. They do bunk activities, some things not with bunk (eg, pai t ball or sailing - costs more, not all do this). It is fair rustic. His brother goes to a camp where each child has a cubby and some closet space, where he lives out of his camp duffel.

There is a pool, plus kayaking, archery, arts and crafts, tons of field sports, and more.

Meals he likes, as well as camaraderie and competitions between bunks/cabins. Not to mention the lifelong friends. If you have specific questions, I am halk to answer them.

Bump. Does Camp Letts feel crowded and impersonal with the day campers coming and going?

Does that create a weird dynamic between those who can afford to do those activities and those that can't? What do kids do while others are doing those activities?

No, because not tons of kids do the extra activities. For a sleep away camp, Letts is very inexpensive (compared to a day camp it is, but that is another thing!). Usually only a couple per bunk, so most in the bunk are together most of the day. My child has been going for several years, and intends to be a counselor one day!

No weird dynamics between those who sail v those who don't, or day campers v sleep away, because day campers and overnight campers don't actually interact much. It's a large space!

Do they have all the fun traditions like most summer camps?

Different themes every week, cabins compete for points to win (something) every week, singing/cheering during meals, smores and 9ther evening activities, etc., YES. My children are fans....

Hello I am 13 years old and I have been attending Camp Letts for 2 years now. I love Camp Letts because of the fun camp traditions. Each week has a different theme (Color War, Halloween, Hollywood, etc) which makes each week a different fun and engaging experience. The cabins are kept clean and organized with showers every night and Clean Up in the morning. I would highly recommend this camp to any children, relatives, or friends. It is an amazing experience to meet up with camp friends each year and catch up on school and home lives. Ages for Camp Letts range 6-16.

Mt DD wrote the above. I asked her to respond because I thought it might be helpful.

Awww! Thank you so much for a thoughtful and honest review!

Terrible. Not enough food. Not enough time in the water (during an unbelievably hot week). Mediocre activities. Kids all came with a friend and didn’t want to hang out with anyone else.

We really wanted to like it, but were very disappointed.
