I don't know. I think one white lady butchering salsa was enough (Lady Gaga). It's about entertainment as much as the message. Said as a white lady who hopes she hasn't butchered salsa too often but may have. |
Then maybe you learned something last night, because much of what you're saying is lies. And if you're an American citizen, you're the last one who should be pontificating about a government that issues too much debt. You're part of a house of cards with 36 trillion in debt, and a President who is gutting the IRS. |
If only we had known that is what was happening |
Thank goodness for word captions and 20 new Spanglish curse words! |

Good grief, can Washingtonians ever relax and have FUN!?!
I speak no Spanish, who cares?! The show was an amazing production and I was dancing! |
Right???? |
Did you know Latinos are often white? true story! |
First of all, it’s Litinx. And second you dumb MAGA gringo, Latinx peoples are BIPOCs. |
| And cis |
| Hey sis! |
| And black |
| I thought that Gaga and Martin just brought down the vibe. |
It was a family values show! |

Good grief I read every page of this. Not a great use of my time. I'd enjoy a more nuanced take from people other than a few lines and the tinge of political talk. There's a lot to putting together a good Superbowl halftime show that is worth discussing.
I don't know much about Bad Bunny's music - i watched him on SNL, but I don't remember what songs he played. I did recognize the last song from last night (which was also the one played to represent his music at the Grammy's, I think). I wonder how much closed sets - walking through the sugarcane - plays in person. I think it's really hard to have a good show for in person and TV. I think Rihanna did a really job at that, and for example The Weeknd did a very poor job at that balance. (That maze was rough - I know he got the covid show but still that one ranks as a bad show). I thought it was fun and generally worked. I was surprised at Gaga, though she did a great job. (I wondered if Bruno Mars was also going to show up). There was a point during some of the big group dance numbers that I thought it sounded/looked at little bit like the Broadway show (and movie) In the Heights by Lin Manuel Miranda - I was surprised he wasn't there, actually. That could have been really fun, though the trend lately isn't for mash ups. I couldn't understand a word Kendrick Lamar said (except the Drake diss, of course, which was slowed down and pointed!), but I still recognized the value of his performance. I also thought Usher's wasn't that great. But overall this one was prety clear and easy to grasp the throughline, and the joy was apparent. The ending was awesome with all the flags. Great messaging. And I LOVED the bushes were people. I too wish there had been a grass dance. All in all a great show. |
Never heard about him or his music. Do know other reggaeton music. He covered some of those. Overall show was OK. He seemed restrained vs his dick pop move he usually does in his shorts. |
