Not at all!! I think that’s a great reminder that playing time on JV greatly helps development vs riding the bench. |
Nothing wrong with JV bc girls develop at different times. BUT JV does not help develop strong players. Despite what everyone tries to rationalize when their children don’t make V freshman year. |
Getting coached at the V level is definitely better than playing JV. Even if riding the bench during games. But it’s not the end of the world!! |
+1 |
That really depends on what school you’re kid is attending. SR and SSSAS yes better to be on varsity even if on bench. All the others I am not convinced --JV might be wiser to get reps and live game action. |
I think 12-8 is a pretty solid beating. Word of advice from a parent who has been through this. M&D DC stay put. Do not go to capital. |
I’m confused. What have you been through that is analogous? One local team beat another local team by 4 goals and the best players on the team that won should not go play for the best local high school club? I don’t get it. |
They are currently at the best local club. And that local club now has a high school option. The Pride 29 team isn’t in the A division of NGLL and stars is average at best. |
Those girls on BLC is good. When the MDDC team and them join forces, wherever it may be, all that talk about the 29s being week in the DC area will be put to bed |
That local club always had a high school option. They just changed the jerseys. One good team across all age groups does not a "best local club" make. |
Then MC Elite hung with Bethesda (lost 5-8). Don’t sleep on all the local talent. |
Props to the M&D DC team for putting together a very good 8th grade team. I have been through this before and have an excellent understanding of the next steps, including how college recruiting works. There’s really no doubt which local high school club is the best for this. People are trying to build their brand and need to make certain promises. I get it. My (good) daughter is not going to be part of this experiment. Good luck to you all. Hope you all can manage to make a decision you don’t regret |
There are only so many 29s in the area with older sisters that play.
My bet is that this is a HB troll! |
If you stay with capital you are part of a different experiment of how long a club can survive on reputation alone, without adapting with the changing game. You won’t have the luxury of seeing the 27s and 28s recruiting before you make your decision, but you might be wise to look at how many capital girls actually play in college vs attend and are part of the team. It may not matter to you, but it is a statistic worth looking into. You also might want to consider how much your family is relying on any money. Capital finds most of their girls homes, but that may not come with much or any financial assistance. |
Finally!!! |
