| I got out of the car to get the mail, closed the door, and ended up chatting with a neighbor for a few minutes (maybe 15 minutes). Went to get back in the running car and all the doors were locked. Some super safety feature or a defective something, I’m not sure. Called and emailed the salesman, but haven’t heard back. Any ideas? |
| Get a Honda. |
| Don’t leave your car running for 15 minutes |
| Leaving your car running for 15 minutes is not "a few minutes." That's actually a really long time. |
|
Lucky for you it wasn’t in the garage.
Where your dog sleeps. |
Then shouldn’t the car simply shut off? That’s what my Audi does. |
The garage is where my husband sleeps |
| Call a tow truck or a locksmith. |
| Eventually it will run out of gas... |
And the car unlocks when it’s out of gas? |
Yes. Car knows there is no point keeping the door locked. |
| Don't you have more than one key or whatever do daad to your car? |
+1. My spare car key is at home. |
| You should have a spare fob. And it’s why you never leave the car running and shut the doors. If you need to go bring in the trash or something, you leave one door open. Or a window. |
| The car would not unlock with the second fob. |
