| Does anybody know if it came this morning? |
| MY DC got on Fallsmead. I assume it went to Lakewood too. It was about 15 minutes late though. |
| Yes it did arrive at Lakewood, was about 15 minutes late. My kid reached school 5 mins after the bell. |
| And as usual for a delay..there were not enough seats on the bus and kids were left behind. |
That’s crazy. What happens for the kids who get left behind. Do they send another bus, or do the kids have to find their own ride. |
| I don't know if our Eastern magnet bus ever came yesterday. After 20 minutes of waiting, we finally drove her to school. Don't know when/if it ever arrived. Snow delay days are always crazy. |
I called about it last year. The problem is kids take the bus who do not on regular days...and the bus is super crowded everyday. They will send a second bus eventually but the woman I spoke to said it would likely be a long wait. Yesterday the bus driver tried to arrange rides for the kids with parents who were still there but some kids were still left. Other times they have had kids sitting on the floor which violates the safety rules of course. |

You Blair parents. Waaaay too involved in your high schooler lives. The bus was 15 min late. Child walked in 5min after bell. So what???
Good lord helicopters. |
Just be grateful everyone’s taxes are going to drive your snowflakes across the county everyday. Most people think it is a huge waste of money and resources. Not to mention pollution and more traffic. My kid sits on an overcrowded bus every single day. Many kids on laps. Us normal folk would like more buses too, but we aren’t bitching up a storm. But the Blair parents...
|
Imagine the pollution and traffic if there weren't buses for the magnet programs; everybody who was able to get driven, got driven in individual cars; and everyone who wasn't able to get driven just didn't get to go at all. |
Why not? I hardly think it makes you a helicopter parent to demand that your tax dollars be used to ensure your kid has a safe ride to school. |
|
I don't read any b-tching from Blair parents. It was a question and then a conversation about the procedure for when there are too many kids to fit on the bus. That can affect any route.
It was non-magnet parents that started the complaining.. |
The point is no magnet schools at all which I agree with. And the bus hardly saves pollution. Many parents still drive the entire route, and all of them drive and idle to each bus stop at the very least too. |
Of course it does..for every kid on that packed bus we have taken a car off the beltway... |
