Apparently Cognat 135 with a low under 120 Verbal score will not be in pool

Got the information from the local AART today

So now I will have to do referral.

Where can I find exactly what is the criteria for AAP in pool though ?

Was the NNAT score very low?

NNAT is 122

That's bizarre. FCPS has never handled the in-pool cutoff in such a manner before. Are you sure your AART isn't mistaken?

I emailed the AART teacher

Mine is "Received Cognat score 135 but not pool letter. Is it sent separately?"

Hers is "They are sent together. So if you do not see the pool letter, make sure to do referral"

OP : what is the score in each sub section?

The letter must've been lost or something. Did she specifically say that verbal under 120 means you're not in pool?

We received two separate letters but they arrived on the same day (Christmas Eve).

+1 - our child got a composite of 130 with a non-verbal of 118. He's in the pool. His quantitative was 139, so that may have been the push.

That may be the case. No she does not say that. So I email her now with my child name and scores to confirm is she is in pool or not

NNAT 122
Verbal 113
Quantitative 135
Nonverbal 137
Composite 135

Side note. So I ask her one example of Verbal question.
She told me there is picture someone running, someone with a bicycle, someone pushing a wagon and something else I forgot
She asked me which one I would choose to be the fastest.
I chose the one with the bicycle

She said she chose the one running since the one with the bicycle is not on it so it may be broken (and he has to walk it)

LOL I bet she got that one wrong but she is the type like to over-complicate a simple question / answer

Maybe I should put this in my referral example

I think it may have been a mistake.

Quantitative 135
Nonverbal 137
Composite 135

These are really good scores for this year's COGAT. You should parent refer. The only other reason I believe the child is not in is because the stanine for her age is 8 and not 9. Is that true? Is she born in October or November?

Sometimes the cutoff is based on composite, sometimes it is any section.

My child had a 134 Quant and a very low verbal-110? or so (sorry, I'm at work). And a low NNAT. He was in-pool.
