I mean I know this is not my problem but for some reason it grates on my nerves so badly. I'm talking about people that literally never call their kids by their first names only. There are 2 people in my kids play group that do this.
Changed the names but it's always "come here Elizabeth Grace" "Please share your truck Henry Robert" Just why? I don't get it. |
They do it to annoy you. We meet every Tuesday to find new things which annoy you. |
Haha ok. Thanks for the clarification. |
Where are you from? No one would think twice about this in my southern family. That said, maybe you should take up meditation or yoga if something so trivial and over which you have no control gets you so triggered. |
Sorry, Original Poster. I spent 873 pages of posts in the Expectant Moms forum to come up with the perfect first and middle name combo, so of course, I will use them together at every opportunity. |
I am from MD. But anyway I was just asking because it annoys me. But I can see how you think I'm "triggered" considering that the rest of the posts in the forum are all much deeper and of greatest importance. |
My name is Elizabeth Grace! ![]() |
With girls I’ve noticed that the middle name is usually Grace. |
Well then come here right now! |
There is a poor kid on a soccer team that plays against dd’s team whose name is a running joke with kids on opposing teams because the parents insist on yelling the full name 100 times over the course of a game. If it were a single name it wouldn’t be so memorable, but the girls all get excited when they are playing “Fargaret Fay’s” team (not her real name), because they know that they will hear the full name, broadcast on repeat whenever Fargaret Fay is on the field.

Yeah, not gonna lie, this annoys me too! Especially when someone else is doing it to my kid but I fully realize I’m being irrational. |
It’s not as annoying as the ridiculous nickname you call your dd. “Zippy! Basher! Lulu! Ziggy! Mini! Coosh! At least they are using the actual name. |
Op here. I don't call my kid any nicknames but thanks. |
I love my DD’s name. Unlike many middle names which are chosen at random, her’s has meaning and I prefer to use it more than just in the angry “Larla Jane Smith come here this minute.” Don’t use it all the time, but often enough. |
Haha, I see what you did there. ![]() |
