I googled and some items available for purchase appeared.
Anyone have an over the counter course of treatment to recommend? |
| Take whatever kind of animal you have to the vet on Monday morning, or tomorrow to the emergency vet if symptoms are extreme. |
| Your pet, whatever it is since you didn't state its breed, has to see the vet if it is sick or has an infection of any kind. Over the counter is not going to heal an infection, particularly a UTI. You should rehome this animal. You don't sound responsible enough to care for it. |
| No. Have you had a UTI? It is awful. Don’t make your poor pet suffer so you can save a few bucks. It won’t work and you will have to go to the vet anyway. |
| A UTI will require antibiotics. Once the infection is cured you can give your pet a cranberry and d-mannose supplement and make sure they drink plenty of water. But no OTC treatment will cure the UTI. |
Can youveeally give a pet cranberry ? Do you want said pet to live? |
NP here. I think dogs can have cranberry in limited amounts. The PP said to treat the UTI with antibiotics, not to rely on cranberries to cure the infection. |
| OP, please take your pet to the vet. Besides the paint and discomfort your pet is experiencing, you'll have a FAR higher vet bill if you wait. |
pain and discomfort |
oops...pain and discomfort |
I gave my dog a cranberry supplement for 2 years. I never said it was a substitute for a vet visit. Why are you jumping to hysterics? |
NP, but maybe because there is a differn ce between a supplement and treatment? |

Take the dog to the vet. We use this supplement to prevent additional infections. Seems to work well. |
| OP, did you take your dog to the vet (I hope)? |
Again, learn to read before jumping to conclusions. |
