I can lose on 1700-1800 a say but I am super active. I walk the dog, workout, and move whenever I can. I am 5 foot 1, 44 years old.

To lose weight, you must burn more than you eat. If you're burning 2000 calories a day and eat 1500, you will lose weight.

I had to be at 1200 for my height, but yes I easily lost weight over time.

I am 5'2" , 57 years old, and cannot exist on 1500 calories. That seems like starvation.

Yet, i seem to be losing weight -- I am very active. I was at 132 and now at 123, it's about a pound every 2 weeks. Will look great at my 40th High School reunion in July! I've bumped up my exercise this past year -- now 7 days a week, not 3 or 4. I may not lose, but I am definitely not gaining and still eating a very reasonable 1800 calories, loving my delicious vegetarian food, and never depriving myself. Dessert coming up in a minute

I’m doing 1500 a day and I’m 5”10 165 hoping to get to 150.

For me, it’s impossible to lose any weight on 1500 calories a day. I am 5’7 and 170lbs.

1500 calories would be a cheat day for me.

1500 is too much for me. After 20 years of starvation diets followed by binging I need to go down to under 1000 to lose weight, and I’m obese.

I lost 25 lbs in 3 months doing 1400 calories per day (sometimes more or less, but 1400 was the general cap). I went from 165 to 140. I worked out nearly every day, but mostly just 5-6 mile walks.
