A bunch of friends are planning a tropical moms only getaway. We all have young kids and looking forward to this much needed break. I prefer my own room. DH thinks I should go with the flow and share a suite with others.
Do grown women still share beds when going away together? We are middle aged moms ages 35-45. |
I will share a room, but not a bed. I'm 33. |
My own room. I’m 37. Did this recently, 4 women in one room and two of us go our own. I’m a SAHM with several kids and haven’t slept through the night in ages. If I had occasional nights away for work or were better rested, I would have no problem sharing a room, or even a bed. But my first night away in nearly a decade and I wanted my own room ![]() |
Yes I get my own room. My other girlfriends often share. We are mid 40s. |
Own room...not weird. It’s a vacation, not a sleepover and I need my time alone to recharge. You do you. |
I’m 25 yrs out of college. 6 of us meet freshman yr. It just worked out that we naturally gravitated to one other person. When we go on girls trip we get 3 rooms with each “couple” in a room. We often all end up hanging out in one room but we each have a bed to sleep in.
If for some reason we have a odd number, the single person gets one bed and the “couple” shares a bed. |
I hate sharing a hotel room but everyone does to save money. |
I get my own room. |
I would likely share (room not bed) but I would think nothing of a friend who preferred her own space. |
Share a room yes, share bed no. If several hotel rooms, multiple rooms with two double beds. More frequently, we'll get a big house - some rooms have single beds, some have doubles, some even have bunk beds. We just laugh and have fun! |
Room, yes. Bed, no, unless there are some kind of extenuating circumstances (beyond money). Sharing a room is part of the fun of it for me, but we all have enough money that we can afford our own bed. I went on one girls trip where one friend wanted her own room and that was fine too. |
Yes room. Not a bed if we can help it, but sometimes the hotel only has a king bed. It's like a sleepover when we share a room. V fun! |
For a one-night getaway, I'll share a bed (recently we had 8 of us in 2 rooms with 2 queen beds in each).
For a longer vacation, I will share a room, but not a bed. A king bed might be OK. I just can't see paying all that extra money to have my own room.... |
I just had this conversation with friends. I prefer my own, as does another friend. 3rd friend thinks we're weird. I just like having my own space to recharge. Even though we're close, it feels better to have space. Definitely won't share a bed. |
Well, we share a room and even a bed, but I could do anything. |
