Melanie’s outfit for a state dinner upset people. Inappropriate.
|
When was this state dinner? |
That wasn't a state dinner, it was a black tie event for GOP governors |
This is fine, looks nice. Her being the first lady and her dh are inappropriate in every other way but the outfit is OK, those are fancy pants |
It's not appropriate for a black tie gala. I love her style, and I love this outfit, but it's not the time or place. |
| I’m generally Team Evening Pants, but I don’t think those are evening enough, and I don’t think they do her hips/midsection any favors. |
That top foto is so airbrushed it looks like AI |
As usual, she dresses in a wildly inappropriate way. It must be on purpose, to show disrespect. So rude. What even show up? |
It's really not. This was Usha at the same event:
That's just from the waist up but you can see in the pic of her below she is in a floor length gown:
Second-in-Command's wife is in a gown and you're in pants and a blouse? An evening tux like the one she wore last admin would've worked, this is just too casual. |
Also another pic from the same article. I really like the marigold gown worn by the blond woman who is apparently the First Lady of Louisiana.
|
| Not a melanie fan but I like the look - plus the gov dinner is not close to a state dinner. Maybe it had a jacket and she decided not to wear it due to it being too hot |
It's not close to a state dinner but it was still black tie. You can see every other woman, including Usha who is far from a fashion plate, in a gown. Etiquette would dictate following the crowd and not being significantly overdressed or underdressed compared to everyone else. I do like it but I think it would've been better for a cocktail reception or something. |
You mean it upset you? And some random internet commenters? She looks great - chic and modern. |
| The pants are doing nothing for her stomach. A simple long black dress would've been better. She was having an off night. |
