If you for the most part enjoy (or more than tolerate) your work, what do you do? Feeling stuck, & looking for some ideas.

I teach HS and I love it, but I definitely think it depends on your school environment. my principal is great, very responsive, and gives us freedom. I enjoy my coworkers for the most part

I’m a preschool and primary teacher in a Reggio-Emilia school. I get to infuse curriculum inspired by the students’ interests with art and yoga every day.

I am not a teacher but work in schools through a nonprofit organization. I love my job, but I don’t make a lot of money.

I work in advisory, so I spend my days talking to executives and giving them advice. I don’t have anything to sell to them (I’m what they’re paying for), so they are generally excited to talked to me and it’s really interesting hearing about their challenges and attempting to give them advice.

Scientist at a non-profit.

Interesting thing is 2 years ago I did not particularly like my job, and had felt lukewarm about my career choices since entering the workforce. I’m working for the same organization, but have evolved into a less technical and more management/leadership role, and I now am super engaged and excited about work (though also a bit more stressed). I think what has made the difference is more autonomy and respect, a clearer path to advancement, and day to day work that is better suited to my skills (more team and project management, less tech stuff). Management and coworkers that have my back and are fun to work with have also made a difference.

It’s made me realize that career fulfillment has a lot to do about the specific dynamics of a role, and office politics, and less about the actual field.

I still wish I picked a more lucrative profession though!
