| I’m an oncology nurse—mix and infuse chemo. No one understands why we love what we do, but we absolutely love it |
|
Software developer and hate it.
work in a large room, where people are fired randomly. Work with mostly guest workers with contracting firms that are desperate to come to US. Morale sucks. Hours suck. Money decent. But you have to deal with unmotivated stupid people. |
| School counselor in a private school. I love it!? |
| Oops- that question mark was a typo. I really do love it! |
| Preschool teacher. |
|
Educator at one of the local museums! I work mostly with field trip and Scouts groups.
My background is in education - middle school science teacher for 14 years before this - but I just got burnt out doing the classroom thing. This is a great alternative. |
SN mom here. Thank You! The room can rise and fall on the strength of the teacher assistants. I teach full time now, and hope to work as a para when I retire. |
|
preschool special education teacher here. I love my job, but do not always love working.
I went all the way through law school and realized (right after passing the bar) that it just was not for me. The first few years of teaching were tough- especially when I was left wondering if I had made the right choice. Now that I am a mom I truly love my job. I love knowing that through my job, I am contributing to the kind of world I want my son (and his generation) to inherit. |
| School administrator and I love my job. It can be stressful, you always have to be on your toes, but I find it very rewarding! |
This is what I do full time and I am hoping to drop down to part-time next year. While I like it I’m losing steam. We have a very physically aggressive group this year |
| Civil engineer. Life sucks!! to have regular arguments with the contractor and to work for clients who don’t care except for their own promotions. There is a reason why our infrastructure sucks!! |
| CIA analyst. My job is intellectually stimulating and rewarding. I believe in the mission and am legally prohibited from taking any work home. I can’t get fired unless I commit espionage. I love it. |
Me too! I had to stop and make sure I wasn’t the one who posted that and forgot. I also work as a counselor in a public school ( it’s an unusual job situation) and I really don’t like it as much in the public school. I’m going to go full time in a private school going forward I think. Much more time with students instead of doing admin tasks. |
| Executive Director of small advocacy oriented non profit. |
Me too, and same. I can't imagine doing anything else. |
