And the scene where Carole tells Tinsley her non-reaction to the boat incident is due to her being in abusive relationships. Um, what? And why didn't we get more of Tinsley's reaction to that doozy of a comment.

Agree. Whenever he is on screen I kind of waffle between "looks like an actual homeless person/greenpeace protester/cute dude". Last night something about his teeth/thinness made him fit with homeless person.

I also noticed something weird- Carole normally has shapeless sloppy lips, obviously- they are usually hanging around slackly unless she is smiling. For the first time ever last night, when Adam suggested they go out/catch up, she paused/froze and pressed her lips into a line. It looked like she was either repressing a desire to speak, or felt like she couldn't or shouldn't (had to choose her words carefully) or that she knew she was in trouble. It was the most curious reaction. I mean all the random arguments/Bethenny drama/political discourse on the show... I've never seen her do that to that level. She either wanted to say no, or knew she needed to say no. For all her world weary independent woman journalism narrative, she is a love chump.

Carole's face was a kinds of crazy during the whole Adam conversation.

I kind of feel like part of what started the rift with B was Bethenny calling Adam out and saying what she thought about the whole situation (which she tends to do) and not keeping with the fantasy world in Carole's head about how cool she was feeling about the whole thing (meaning I think she was torn apart but didn't want to show it, and B calling a spade a spade made her very defensive).

Carole lost me in many ways this season, but the whole breakup with Adam also lost me. So you don't give a shit about Adam or the fact that you broke up with him. Why were you with the man for several years then? I don't know. Show some emotion about it. It's just weird.

When things get emotional, Carole clams up and just acts stunted. Which very possibly may be a result of her husband dying and the JFK/Caroline deaths. It would be understandable. But then, maybe talk about that?

I feel like Carole went on the show and thought she could just ride the wave and be the witty observer and never reveal anything true about herself, which she really managed to do. But then it just got old. It doesn't feel authentic. Either get in or get out.

Totally agree. They needed a castmate, not an observer. You're not above it all, Carole and not so piquant.

Why should every second of emotion be shared ON CAMERA? Do you get that maybe she's cried or shown emotion over it *in private?*

Bethenny will probably be Instagramming herself sobbing over Dennis's death in 3...2...1...

I thought she opened up a lot about the trip to London with Dorinda and picking up her late husband's ashes. I always had the impression that because of the trauma she went through with losing her husband and best friends in the way that it happened she didn't get bogged down by petty things as frequently as others.

Agree with this. My college boyfriend had lost both of his parents and didn't get bogged down by petty things . . . at all. He also couldn't empathize with things like having a bad day at work either.

Zero seconds of emotion were shared on camera. She chose to put herself on a TV show where the whole point is to be open and let the viewers in to her life. Would I ever do this? NO. But fact remains that the Housewives who aren't vulnerable and real on camera aren't very good cast members.

It seems to work fine for Cameran on Southern Charm.

+1

I think that Carole thought she could be like Bethenny - someone known for her witty commentary. However, Bethenny is also vaguely interesting and not scared to show vulnerability on camera (or at least was in the beginning, before she became obsessed with her image and promoting her business). Carole is totally boring and painful to watch. She apparently still thinks of herself as a journalist so she should just go and do that.

Excellent analogy. I also think Cameron is boring as hell. However, they likely keep her on because she is young and gorgeous and genuinely friends with the people who are interesting in the cast. Carole no longer checks any of those boxes on her show. So as she would say, next.

NP here. You're a fool if you believe half of the emotion you see on these shows. Do you think Bethenny is sincere 80% of the time she cries? The women on these shows know how to milk it for their brands/products/whatever.

Ramona is also free to not go to Bethenny's parties, but I'm sure she wants the air time. I'm sure Bethenny could care less if Ramona shows up for any of her events.

This is not "not supporting other women". This is living on planet earth where you prioritize how you spend your time and you support people who treat you decently.

B doesn't support anybody. Bethenny is all about Bethenny. I'm also sick to death of her showing us her ass. She loves to get naked for the cameras and it is gross.

Plus, I don’t need to see every sob or snot bubble to believe that Carole was upset and conflicted about the Adam break-up. She talked about it plenty. I can extrapolate some feelings even if she’s not actually holding a tissue, FFS.

Reunion trailer looks insane.

Carole was going to come out a loser at the end of all of this no matter what and now everyone is going to watch this through the lens of Dennis dying and having empathy for B. Carole is screwed.

Good luck with that post-RHONY career Carole. Saw a report that she wants to get hired on The View. Hoping they take a hard pass on that.

Agree. She is simply not relatable or likeable enough for a public career like that.
