This armchair CEO garbage isn't going to cover up the fact that a federal government employee publicly threatened to take major punitive action against a private company in order to censor the speech of their employee. Conservatives used to find this scenario appalling and completely against the Constitution.

But Kimmel spread a hurtful lie that he easily could have fact checked, had he stepped out of his bubble. He wasn’t even telling a joke, he was making a political speech.

It wasn’t a lie - the MAGA crowd had been trying desperately to make people believe that the murderer was part of some leftist group starting when Kirk’s body was still warm. That was their number one priority.

Also, this should go without saying but comedians are allowed to make political speeches just like they are allowed to tell jokes in America.

He is a leftist, though. People weren't wrong.

+1. And your employers don't have to keep you.

That is true.
However there are rules/laws in place that do protect people from being unjustly terminated.

And these laws exist to protect people from unfair practices, etc.

These laws exist so that people can enjoy the rights (vs. privileges) that are due them.

Based on his comments, he could easily have been fired for cause.

But he wasn't.

The left celebrated when Bill Oreilly, Tucker, and Roseanne were sacked — and every other canceled celeb. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

The show was canceled. They arent obligated to run a show for him to be on. You can't possibly believe they violated labor laws.

I can't tell if the late show format just doesn't work anymore or if all of these people are the worst comedians ever. I used to love the Daily Show and now when I watch John Stewart it's like I'm being lectured by a DCUM leftist. Nothing hits.

Boomers don't stay up late anymore.

The precedent being set for obliterating the first amendment will not bode well for the second amendment in the future. I don’t know how MAGA doesn’t see that they’re creating a path to get rid of gun rights. Maybe losing freedom of speech is worth it to get rid of the second amendment though.

It seems like Republicans or MAGA have taken over a few threads recently.

I think it’s a handful of teens trolling. Good luck getting a job after you graduate, Sonny! Between AI and the economy, get used to that twin size bed you’ve only ever had. Bc you’re not gonna be able to leave the nest. Thanks, Trump!

I guess they figure if they smear enough BS on the walls no one will want to stay here.
They’re turning this forum into a Facebook comment section.

I initially assumed that Kimmel had made a derogatory remark about Charlie Kirk but when I watched the clip - - what he said and what was shown was not bad at all.

I am shocked that something like this can cause a TV host to lose his entire TV show forever.
Sure there will be people who will not agree w/what Kimmel said on his show (especially since it is related to politics!) but Jimmy had a right to say it.
It is his constitutional right to say what he wants as long as he refrains from slander or libel which he in fact did.
I say all of this objectively.

What confuses me is that the FCC is stating that Kimmel lost his show due to what he said during Monday night’s program.

Yet Donald Trump has stated that was NOT the reason his show was cancelled at all.
He has stated that Kimmel’s show was cancelled due to Jimmy having zero talent.

So I am hereby confused because now it appears there is zero consistency between the President and the FCC.

You're surprised? Good morning, Rip van Winkle!
This is Project 2025 and MAGA. They've been broadcasting their fascist takeover for years!
