The consumer confidence crash is only in the US. The rest of the world is on par. |

Usually US economic pain is cushioned by falling bond yields and a strengthening dollar, which mean lower interest rates and more spending power for consumers. This time we’re seeing the opposite, meaning the pain will be amplified. Basically what normally happens is investors think “Stocks are too risky now, so let’s shift into US bonds and the dollar, which are a safer bet because America is a stable and well-run country with a good handle on its deficit and inflation.” This time? Not so much. |
This is what happens when you elect someone who is incompetent and unfit for office. Trump sucks. |
Trump just keeps destroying our economy and republicans do nothing to stop it. Why do they hate our country so much? |
It’s a mystery. There’s no way this doesn’t end badly. Trump has destroyed the credibility of the United States. Game over. Maybe the republicans think there’s nothing they can do to fix it anyway. But they could at least stanch the bleeding on inflation. Our bonds are history. |
It’s crazy that these morons in Congress are silent. Do they not care about their retirement, their grandchildren, their ability to get cancer treatment. Vote every single last one out. |
And with this, the market will be up significantly tomorrow (right before he, you know, fires him)

Let’s see how long this lasts. A temporary reprieve because markets are so fked from needless trade wars does not a healthy economy make. |
It’s like they’re stunned into complicit silence. I think they’re honestly scared of the base. I mean it’s a cult. It’s a cult that is isolating America and making it some backwoods, hyper Christian society with a shthole economy. It’s really insane. These were people who were supposed to be like Chamber of Commerce, low tax high growth people, instead they’re feckless. |
Lisa Murkowski has already admitted this on camera. |
Anyone else tired of all the winning? |

“.. The big-box CEOs flat out told him [Trump] the prices .. will go up," an administration official familiar with the meeting told Axios. "And this wasn't about food. But he was told that shelves will be empty." IOW...COVID 2.0 but totally self-inflicted. |
This seems like it could be a problem for Trump
https://www.piie.com/blogs/realtime-economics/2025/us-eu-trade-finding-path-back-tariffs He doesn't have the legal authority to write a binding deal. Congress writes trade deals and it has not (nor will the senate) delegated this authority to the White House. |
