Why is Northeastern (NEU) so popular with both parents and students these days?

I’m surprised and perplexed by the very strong feelings on both sides of this but in case some prospective parent is reading wanted to say i don’t get these same weird vibes among the (admittedly few) other parents I’ve met and my student is having a good experience. Good luck to all in the college search!

Congratulations, but other parents disagree with you. They all regard NEU as a top 10 school. The acceptance rate is lower than most ivies for heavens sake!

Troll harder with your juvenile postings.

Maybe it’s an experimental Russian trolling bot. Nobody in real life is this tone-deaf.

It's the same anti+NEU troll that has plagued this board for years. Older woman, kid denied at NEU even though the school was beneath the aptitude of the child. Claims of making up admissions stats, gaming rankings, horrible school, horrible professors, horrible students soon followed and haven't let up since.

No it is not. Do you realize how crazy this sounds? How can you profess to even know who is posting what on here?

DP. Why aren't you letting up? I find the PPs who continually come back to defend the school and even claim it belongs in the top 20 to be even more bizarre.

Another DP. +1

This person is actually making the school look bad with these crazy claims.

There is a virulent anti-NEU troll. Not sure why she gets to post here? It's hard to discuss a university when the same troll will pop up with such intelligent bits as "NEU is better than Harvard!". These are usually interspursed with "NEU is a safety!"

It's the same person or maybe small group of wackos that foster this crap. Make outlandish claims, one way or the other, with the intent to denigrate the students that go there. Truly bizarre. NEU gets 100k applications a year. They are doing fine, and the posters who engage as they have done, huffing and puffing to save the world from NEU, makes them look like idiotic dolts deserving of all the mockery that comes their way.
