Julia Roberts’ horrible, horrible wig in Homecoming

Anonymous
The show is ok but GD this wig is distracting me. I’m sitting at home with a cold and it’s driving me crazy. They need to have included a subplot about how she had just survived cancer and had this wig in order to justify this. What’s sad is that I think the wig actually looks better than her real hair despite its horribleness.

I’m so over Julia Roberts. Can’t stand her since the rumors came out about her fat shaming people. I have no tolerance for that type of nonsense. I liked her ok until then but now I actively avoid anything she’s in.

I watched the trailer for Homecoming and didn't find her hair to be that distracting. In fact, it wasn't clear to me that it was a wig...

Julia apparently had a rather complex relationship with her younger sister. It seems that her younger sister never felt validated or worthy in Julia's eyes and that really hurt. There appeared to be a certain amount of sibling rivalry there. Her sister overdosed in 2014 not long after she complained about Julia on social media. Julia apparently did attend and spoke at her funeral.

Well, you know what? I’m sitting here in a wig, because I have metastatic cancer. I wish I just had a cold. Julia Roberts wig is her and her hairstylists business, not yours. She has no need to let the world know she has cancer, nor weave it into a plot of what she is working on. Would you want to include that into every work paper you write? Or subtitle every picture that is taken of you? Do you have any idea how hard it is to find and pick a wig when you are going through chemo? That may be the only one she found that didn’t hurt her head, fit her size and made her feel slightly human. I hope you never ever have to understand how horrible of a thing she is going through to cause her to have to wear that wig.

I'm sorry that you are dealing with chemo pp. But I don't know that it has been confirmed that Julia Roberts has cancer. Her mom did die of lung cancer and Julia does have a history of smoking but she is also still pretty young.

She does appear to do some pretty heavy duty calorie restriction and that plus peri-menopause or menopause may have taken a toll on her hair. Maybe her natural hair is thinning out, splitting, breaking easily so she is wearing a wig to make it look thick and healthy?

I honestly don't know how many celebrities wear wigs but I am guessing that more than we suspect do.

I don't think she's wearing a wig.

Julia Roberts doesn’t have cancer and neither does the character. The OP was wondering if the bad wig was a foreshadowing of something. Your whole comment about being between Julia and her hairdresser is ridiculous.

The soundtrack is so obtrusive. ,ore distracting than her hair do.

Great show though. The trailers were awful. I almost didn't watch.

I agree--it's pretty bad. I wonder why they went with it...it's so off putting!
