Critique my PK3 list (Hill East)

Miner is out inbound. Flexible on commute, would prefer Montessori. Probably leaving DC for K so feeders really aren’t in play. The lack of outdoor space at TR 4th is an issue. This list also assumes Lee and MV will move forward with their expansions. Thanks!

I'm not sure why you would place Appletree over Miner. I think preschoolers can really benefit from everything an elementary school has to offer.

At least looking at this year and last year's WLs, the ones at TRY are a tad shorter than those at Lee/Logan. If you have a true preference for Montessori, I'd weigh those higher. If you went for TRY because of location and knowing you'd move and wanting to just be closer for a few years, then you seem stacked pretty well

if you're leaving in K and not because you're moving to a French or Spanish speaking country or immersion program or you speak the language with your kid, I wouldn't bother with MV or Stokes. Your kid won't learn that much of a new language and it's an additional stressor. Not to mention it's kind of a dick move since many of these schools will backfill little or not at all when you peel off at K...so you're taking money from the school and a space from someone who will use it longer.

If you do want immersion, Also you can use 2 slots for Stokes (french and spanish) and 2 for Tyler (bilingual and traditional) so you should think about which you want--or if both, what you'll eliminate.

Not true of MV -- they take TONS of kids (like 50?) in Kindergarten

ITS I could see (they perform better than all the charters listed I think, am wondering why no ITS since it’s next to Lee), but CMI is another 10 minutes and perform crappy. I would hope for TRY. That would be. A great commute for you.

I would get rid of Appletree amd JO Wilson. They are no better than Miner. Instead, be sure you are listing Stokes correctly, uses two spots if you want to try for both languages. And add Inspired Teaching if you have room.

CHML is a wasted spot if it is beneath Lee East End.

not if she leaves in K. And yes ITS has much better scores than Lee and MV not sure about TR.

If you are leaving after K then any of those options are fine. Frankly convenience and community would be the key criteria for me. If you might stay longer then my answer changes.
