Critique my PK3 list (Hill East)

If you're leaving before K, just enroll in Miner and enjoy the benefits of a neighborhood school. Why wouldn't you?

Lee East End?

Lee has asked to expand but won't happen until Fall 2020 at earliest.

I would put Wilson over Tyler.

Also, if you're okay with AppleTree, I'm not sure why Lincoln Park isn't on your list. Would be a lot better commute than most on your list.

If you decide that you’re definitely leaving for K, I’d probably put SWS and then TR-Y and then Miner. It is SO nice to walk to school with your little kids.

If you are leaving after K, why not just stick with Miner? It’s likely an easy commute and you have a guaranteed spot. We are a current Miner ECE family and we are happy with the school.

Agreed. I think you're way overthinking it if all we're talking about is two years of PK. Personally, the only schools I would only consider besides Miner would be ones with commutes that are equal to or better than the Miner commute.

Yep, especially considering that Miner has great outdoor space for the little ones.

Open houses are occurring now. Check out as many schools as possible.

+1 Hill family who didn't get into our IB but prioritized convenience for PreK, because there really aren't any "bad" options on the Hill for ECE. Got into our 10th choice, a neighborhood public school and are very happy. It didn't seem worth a stressful commute or distance for two years.

Is it confirmed that Mundo Verde will be one spot for each campus?

That's what their website says: http://www.mundoverdepcs.org/admissions/

"When the My School DC application becomes available in December 2018, families will be able to apply to both campuses. The second campus will be located at 4401 8th St. NE. Families that are offered enrollment at the new campus in March 2019 would likely get to tour the building that spring. All enrollment requirements during the spring of 2019 will be handled at 30 P St. NW."

If you are leaving before K why spend so much energy on this? Pre-K is pretty good in most schools. Maybe as a shorter you should leave the juicy spots to the long timers.

For only Pre K, the only reason I'd even consider going outside walking distance in your case is to get Montessori, maybe language (only if intending to continue it).

Otherwise what's the point?

Although, considering you're literally the FIRST one to post your list on here, even though you're moving once school that really counts is about to start, you are clearly as someone else said, extra.
