Jealous Wants to Legalize Pot

Is there any chance this will happen if he's elected? and

Why isnt Hogan pushing to legalize pot?

I do not dislike Hogan but this stance alone may swing my vote to Jealous. What are you guys thinking about this?

Pot tax revenue is excellent, and it has never made sense that marijuana is more heavily regulated than alcohol. I wouldn't vote for Jealous for this reason alone, but I agree it's the smarter position.

I was a solid vote for Hogan but I think I am changing my mind.

Just need a million more people to care about this incredibly important issue!

This is why I am not voting for him. Yes alcohol is bad, but marijuana turns kids into stoners and potentially worse. The kid at the end of my street died from a drug overdose, and I remember a few years back before he started having drug problems his mom continuously caught him with marijuana. That stuff is scary and seems to make kids lazy and not focused.

Even the Washington Post endorsed Hogan (not that I put a lot of stock in that), but for them to endorse a Republican, that says a lot.

This one issue of pot is not going to change my mind. You have to look at all of the issues- not just one.

This, 100%. I don’t understand how people can treat this issue so casually.

I used to support legalizing. But now that it’s legal in DC I think it’s awful. I can’t take my kids anywhere without smelling weed. And I know for a fact that we’re breathing it in secondhand quite often. It’s particularly bad around the DC rec center that we spend time at.

And yet keeping it illegal did nothing to protect him.

how come other countries have legal pot and it doesn't seem to be turning their youth into degenerates?

I'm voting LARRY over the jealous guy.

Hey, Larry. How's it going?

I don't care either way. Like alcohol, I avoid pot.

This makes me not want to vote for him. Which I'm not.

Pot should probably be legal for people 21 and older but it’s really harmful to kids, as is alcohol.

But I am not voting for Ben Jealous regardless of his views on weed. My Takoma Park neighbors would be shocked, I’m sure.
