Just moved to CCMD, who should we vote for?

We're socially liberal, fiscally conservative non-white couple with a couple of kids. Registered independents. Despise Trump. Who should we be voting for?

Ben Jealous.

Larry Hogan.

Agree. Decide what is most important to you and vote based on that.

If I were you, Jealous.

DH and I are same but live in Takoma Park. We’re voting Floreen and Hogan. I would’ve been fine with any other Democratic candidate for MoCo Executive but Elrich squeaked a win by being the only uber-leftist candidate in a crowded field of moderates. In the D primary for governor, I voted for Baker but would’ve been fine with Madaleno too. But Jealous is too extreme (like Elrich) so I’m voting Hogan. He’s no fan of Trump and has been a solid governor so far and provides a check in the legislature which is overwhelmingly democratic. I will say though that I think the local primaries in MD are illustrative of the issues facing a fractured Democratic Party that gets overtaken by the most extreme left-wing faction. That may be enough to win the primaries but it almost guarantees a loss in the general.

Fiscally conservative?

Hogan is the ONLY option you have.

Hogan is going to win.

But keep in mind, he will be replacing 5 of 7 State supreme court justices.

Another Takoma Park voter for Hogan and Floreen here.

There's nothing appealing about Floreen. Her developer constituency is hellbent on trying to buy the office.

You live in CCMD, you vote Dem across the board.

Here's a comparison of Elrich vs Floreen, specifically about how they differ:

Elrich is way too left for my taste. I'm voting Hogan and either Floreen or maybe even Ficker. Floreen and Elrich are both term-limited (thanks to Ficker) county council members. If they have all these great ideas for change, why didn't them implement them during their 12 years on the county council?
