| Looking to pay no more than $20k on a used (3-5 year old) sport sedan. Something fun but also practical. Has to be a reliable brand, so I’m basically ruling out BMW, Audi, etc. — thinking moreso like an Acura TLX or Infiniti Q50. Any suggestions? |
| My husband likes his infinity. |
| TLX is a sport car? lol |
| A Civic Si? |
| Toyota Camry |
| I could be wrong but I do not think you would be able to get an Acura or Infiniti at that price unless the miles are unusually high. But I am not going to look it up. |
| Your title is an oxymoron. You either want a true sports sedan that is engineered as such, or a reliable practical vehicle. You have to decide which one you want. |
| We've had many Audi A4's over the years. Reliability has been quite good. |
You’re kidding right?? |
| Subaru WRX |
You'll be hard pressed to find a reliable sports sedan if you exclude BMW, Audi & Mercedes. The Acura TLX is okay, but the '15 & '16 years have major transmission issues. You might want to look into a Lexus IS, but it's rather small. If you're willing to go outside of the luxury brands (presumably you're looking for brand cache as well as sports), then I would second the vote for a Subaru WRX. |
| Just FYI, I've had my TSX for 15 years, and it's been a flawless car. |
That's the TSX - not the TLX. Vastly different cars. The TSX was built as the European Honda Accord - specifically tailored to handle like a sports sedan for sale in Europe. It proved so popular that it was sold rebadged as an Acura in the US. Acura ruined the TSX and TL when they decided to combine them into the monster that is the TLX. |
Op here. So what about a 2012-2014 Acura TL or Infiniti G37x? |
| Just get a brand new Civic for that amount of money. Enjoy the early years when there aren't any extra repairs to pay for. Take the money that you would have to budget for a 5 year old car and get the extra add ons that make it look sportier. |
