Zumba can be great, fun cardio! Weightloss is about calories in vs. calories out, so as long as you're burning more calories than eating (which exercise can help with), you'll lose weight.
The best thing you can do is mix it up between cardio and strength. Keep your zumba to 3x a week, and strength 2x. |
| It's important to pay attention to the moves and put effort into moving energetically. This increases the calorie burn by a lot. Try to add jumping to the movements to increase intensity. It helped me to use a mirror during class and to practice out of class with youtube videos. |

If you search for songs from your classes, you may find similar routines. If you learn the songs, it will help you with keeping time with the steps. I love sensazao dance fitness on YT, and they do classes locally.
