Got pulled over for the first time today

Anonymous
Was so scared! I’ve never been pulled over or gotten a ticket or anything. I am a nanny and must keep my driving record clear! I was running late to work because of road construction so I was speeding. Doing 41 in a 25. Thankfully the officer didn’t give me a ticket, just a warning. But I am wondering is there now any kind of mark on my record that I was pulled over? If I get pulled over again, will they know I already got 1 warning previously and are more likely to issue a ticket? And yes, I will be slowing down now and I never speed with kids in the car before I get flamed.

No mark on your record. Go forth and speed no more.

Wow. A warning for 41 in a 25? You got extremely lucky.

It varies by jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions will list that a warning was given and the offense, but not details (such as "warning issued for traveling over speed limit"). This is so that officers know that a warning was already given and the next offense will be a citation. But not all jurisdictions do this. But it does not go on your official record (so officers outside the jurisdiction cannot see that) and does not affect your license.

I bet she's extremely hot.

You should have gotten a ticket. Bet you are white

I bet she is - attractive young white female.

OP - you were lucky today but slow down. Next time it may be a female cop who pulls you over. You'll be lucky no more.

You got lucky! If it was just a verbal warning, it won't be on your record.

Or it happened in DC where most officers are too lazy to do an actual citation.

+1. I never got tickets in my 20s, even when I had major attitude with the cops (although I did get some phone numbers!). Now in my 30s, I get tickets, even though I'm married to one......*sigh*.

This. I've gotten a million warnings and am neither young, white, nor hot. Never for speeding but for rolling through stop signs or late getting through a yellow light. I know people on this board get really mad about traffic violations so go ahead and be mad.

I almost HIT a cop once (me in a car, him on a motorcycle) and he ended up apologizing to ME! There was definite flirtation there, although we both had wedding rings on, so it wasn't like a pick-up or anything.

I'm in my 40s and not white but I am female. The two times I got pulled over I was let off with a warning.

It is a scary feeling OP but hopefully will stay with you so it doesn't happen again.

Everything I've been pulled over for I've stopped doing. I was ticketed each time however.

I am now that annoying person going the speed limit, coming to complete stops and not going thru yellows! So please don't honk at me when I do these things unless you want to pay the ticket!
