Which MS are doing the pilot program for enriched studies?

Embarrassingly, I don’t know if my kid’s school is part of the pilot program. I missed back to school night. Is there a list somewhere? Does it show up differently on the parent portal list of classes? Thanks.

And has it been announced which schools will pilot the new curriculum once finally chosen?

You should have received notice from the school if your child was invited. Also, check their schedule to see if they are in the new classes.

It's the middle schools in the catchment area for Takoma Park and Eastern (so down county schools - not the schools who have students who could apply to Clemente and King).
It does show up differently on the course list because it is a different course.
The math course is called Applied IM.
The humanities course is called something like Investigations into global humanities.

I think some schools have only one of the courses and a few schools have both.

There are other schools with them as well.

We were told at BTS night that Pyle is having everyone in 6th grade use the curriculum from the new humanities course so I am not sure if the course is truly advanced. They did not say the same thing about the advanced math class.

MCPS had announced that all down county middle schools (all middle schools in the clusters that feed Eastern/TPMS/Blair) except for the three MSMC schools and TPMS/Eastern will have either one or both "enriched" courses. (Later I think they may have added TPMS and Eastern as well.)
