| That Cosby actor working at Trader Joes has me thinking about musicians. There are so many bands and singers that had a 2-6 year run then you never hear from them again. Do these people make enough in the 70s 80s 90s to live off the residuals and streams and dividends of money invested? Find it hard to believe. |
| Many of them tour forever wherever they can. Scott Weiland is a good example. |

Panhandle?
Would Cher fall into this category? |
| My dh was a musician and now works for Trader Joe’s. Makes more than me. |
| I had a boyfriend who was a musician. He worked in construction when he wasn't touring. It was easy to jump in and out of that. When he finished being a rock star, he started flipping houses. |
You dated Vanilla Ice?? |
Not really a good example. |
| I know a member of Fall Out Boy who made enough to last him a lifetime and invested it wisely. |

My brother is a musician, he's had a couple songs played on the radio. He, along with almost every other musician, has always had a day job. Waiting tables or bartending pays well, if you're at an expensive restaurant, and it's a job you can jump in and out of.
My mother is an author who's had books on the shelf at Barnes and Noble. She, like almost every author, had a day job until she retired. |
| I know a few. One teaches music and plays in local bands. One does construction. One is a sound engineer. One is a realtor |
| My buddy hired a two hit wonder from the 90s to sing at his wedding. It was awesome. |
They had a number 1 album released this year. That’s hardly washed up. |
+1 |
lol! |
| Money from royalties. |
