| Assuming FCPS. Does anyone know anything about this: https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2018/09/boy-on-va-school-bus-dies-after-medical-emergency/ |
| It happened in Herndon near Toll Road (near Hyatt). It said he was only child on the bus and it happened at 2 p.m. (according to WAPO). I have a guess, but I won't state it here. I imagine we all suspect the same thing. |
I have no idea. An asthma attack? Allergy? |
| Heat stroke? |
|
What was the temperature where the boy sat?
Windows open or closed? Was the bus in constant motion? Anyone else on that bus? Was the driver on schedule? How long did the driver know this boy? So many questions. |
|
My dd is SN and we had to take her to the emergency room after a 1.5 hour bus ride home in June on a bus with no a/c. I was very angry that the children with the longest rides were not prioritized for buses with air conditioning. It is too hot around here for ALL the buses not to have functional a/c.
I wonder if the child fell asleep and was forgotten. |
The picture on the police tweet shows a handicapped bus. That could explain why he was the only child on the bus, usually those routes have only a few kids per bus. But there is always an aide as well as a bus driver, so the aide should have noticed if it was heat stroke or similar. Maybe the child had a medical emergency unrelated to the heat. So awful. |
| It is in really poor taste for Fairfax police to post a joking photo right after the message about a child dying. Come the eff on. |
I don't understand why they did that. |
AGREE. Wtf |
| How awful. |
| Someone who understands twitter needs to post on that photo and tell them how tacky they are. |
Please someone call them out on it!! I’m not on Twitter, but I’m guessing that’s where they ported it. |
| Yes, its on their twitter page. |
| How heartbreaking. |
