A federal judge on Wednesday ordered the Biden Justice Department to produce a copy of a search warrant executed at his Mar-a-Lago estate, where the FBI conducted a nine-hour-plus search on Monday.

Federal Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the DOJ to “file a Response to the Motion to Unseal” the warrant after requests were made by the Times-Union, a newspaper located in Albany, N.Y., as well as the conservative legal group Judicial Watch.

The judge said that the DOJ must respond no later than Aug. 15, reports said.

No, this is wrong. Judicial Watch and the Times Union asked the judge to unseal the warrant. DOJ has until August 15 to respond to that motion.

He didn’t order the warrant released. He ordered a response to the motion. That’s how courts work. A party files a motion and the other party files a response.

Show source or I'm reporting.

I’m not PP, but this links to the motion and docket.

Keep reading down instead of getting defensive. That’s what the article clarifies.

The first paragraph is absolutely false.

Trump can release the warrant any time.

The government NEVER releases warrants. This is a ploy by the GOP to get people angry over things that happen every day, like when the FBI executes a warrant.

Espionage is for nobodies, middling professionals usually no higher than GG-15s.

he likes to feel important. why did he release the name of a person in IC to the Russians? it isn't for the $$. it is to feel like a big shot.

I can see him spilling info; he already did that. But I think it would be degrading to him to literally sell documents. It would be like El Chapo selling pot on a street corner.

You know you're talking about Trump, right? The purveyor of Trump Steaks.

And Trump Ties etc.

Yeah but he didnt personally sell them. He branded them, which is what people do to make a lot of money. I just find it implausible that Trump would sell the documents. How would he even do it? The typical ways people do this would not be available to him because, well, he is literally followed at all times by federal enforcement officers (secret service).

As for the "intelligence" about weaknesses in our election system- that is nonsensical. By its very nature, intelligence is information about other countries. So he would sell their own information back to them? Does thaf make any sense? "Vlad, you interfered with our election. Heres our report on how you did it." He knows how he did it, because he did it.

I don't know. Maybe you could leave them in an unsecured location in the basement of your hotel that is frequented by foreign visitors on a regular basis.

Classified information most certainly includes information about the US and its vulnerabilities (as well as its plans, capabilities, etc.). You have no idea what you are talking about.

That isnt true. There are certainly classified security assessments or classified documents that describe vulnerabilities. That isnt intelligence, though. The documents are reportedly intelligence. We dont collect intelligence on our own plans and capabilities. We describe them in other classified documents.

Apparently, the ploy means that the DOJ can unseal the warrant after all.

They will most likely respond that they won't unseal it per normal practice. And the GOP will say "see, they are hiding something"

No, the ploy doesn’t mean that at all. Judicial Watch makes all kinds of ridiculous requests that they know have a snowball’s of succeeding just so people like you can say “they wouldn’t ask if it weren’t possible!”

Old enough to remember that some of the 15 boxes of materials recovers by NARA earlier this year consisted of documents that has been torn into pieces.
