| I think Andie MacDowell looks great in her 60s. Annette Bening was a really cute 50-something too. Most people still look pretty good in their 40s. It's menopause that really does a number on your face. |
How is Helen Mirren not dominating this thread? I am 48, and I wish I looked half as good as her at 75! Plus she is not what I would call a natural beauty - she is average at best, yet always looks fabulous. She is my icon for aging for sure.

Not a natural beauty??? Have you seen some of the pics of her when she was young? |
We just finished binging The Good Place and her face looked so different from season 3 to 4- I thought she looked pretty natural in the early seasons and then in season 4 she looked all plastic-y. What would that have been from- Botox? She’s naturally young looking, not sure why she thinks she needs whatever-it-was. |

I think you could list almost any British actress as having aged well, and usually with no (noticeable) work done. Kristin Scott Thomas, Tilda Swinton, Rachel Weisz are some big names, but watch any good drama or mystery and there are loads of British actresses who look good.
I wonder if half is just not feeling like shite just because you’re old and carrying yourself accordingly. |
Right? She was drop dead gorgeous. She is still beautiful |
She had lots of botox and lots of fillers. I know there's an industry pressure for women to look and remain young, which is terrible. But dear god, women need to stop doing this. It looks terrible - especially the fillers. |
| This thread is sort of useless because all these women have work done and access to world class derms and plastic surgeons. |
|
| Vanessa Williams is gorgeous at 58. And at every other age, yes, but--she clearly isn't on the anorexic train and doesn't appear to have had much or any work done. |
Sadly, there is often a big change from early 40 to mid-late 40s because of the massive hormone changes that occur at this time. Menopause and advancing perimenopause are are the great divider that can't be put off. Your looks will change at this time. You can still look good, but the massive hormone shift and estrogen loss are going to cause a marked change. This is what happened to Amy Adams from 41 to 45. Sorry. |
I saw a recent pic and, yes, she's put on quite a bit of weight in the last 5ish years. As have I. It really sneaks up on you, sadly. |
| The discussion nitpicking Amy adams appearance is so ridiculous since if you stood either version of her next to all the other moms in the Janney/Deal afterschool pickup line she’d be by far the most beautiful one there and the dads would be falling all over themselves to talk to her. Britney too! |
