Is saying “ No way Jose” culturally insensitive?

Something the Gringx invented to be politically correct, but most Latinos hate it.

Hate is a strong word.

And your individual compliance is not required. Fact remains: the correct term is Latinx.

Use it or face the consequences.

Latina here. What would the consequences be? This should be interesting.

You will be judged in the same way people who refuse to use the pronoun “they” are judged.

It’s not surprising the majority of Latinx people don’t support trans/no binary people.

Aren’t all Romance languages gendered? So a whole language needs to be changed because some Americans say so? Isn’t that the peak of... what’s the word???? Oh yea, privilege?
How ridiculous!

Those who consider themselves especially woke are so boring to talk to. I’m not looking to swap offensive stories, I’d just love a real conversation with more emotion than talking points.

+1 Perpetually frowning and overanalyzing everything that is said is not a way to live. Incredibly self-centered naval gazing comes to mind.

Is this actually culturally insensitive in any way?

No way, Jose.

What if the person’s name actually is Jose? Then it’s not “problematic” at all, right?

Those are offensive to trans-gender people.

They’re definitely gender exclusive! I think more importantly they reduce someone’s experience to a childish rhyming quip when we know better these days to be more inclusive of our speech. I’m sure there’s some unsavory history to how these phrases found their way into our lexicon.

God I hope this is satire... it’s getting so hard to tell these days.

That would be too brilliant for dcum. I vote for sarcasm.

DP. I absolutely guarantee you that the bolded PP was serious. That’s how ridiculous things have gotten.

This is actually the only offensive thing in this whole thread. Here you are ordering everyone to use the word Latinx, when Latinos on this thread are telling to they hate it, ie. you're being presumptuous and speaking over them. And then you go and make a remark in defense of nonbinary and trans people that is actually racist.

And what about people who are offended by transgendered people claiming to be offended by demonstrably inoffensive things?

Because that’s me.
