It's on the docket for the education committee today.

The sponsor of this is a doctor who got written up by HHS for using her patient roles to send political mailers & solicitations (and who only escaped sanction because she’s in the party who controls the HHS). Sounds like someone who truly has the best intentions and almost sound advisers.

The co-sponsor is Chap Petersen...

Again, the bill can be sponsored by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Thor for all I care. Schools must open, and thankfully the Governor has now said they SHOULD be open for in person classes.

The sponsors are going to refuse to vote on the budget without it. With 2 D's, that's enough to hold up the budget.

But if the tie vote means this bill isn't getting reported up and Northam's VDOE is still letting districts do what they want, then there's no actual action. Just a lot more talk.

I think this bill is premature. They should be focusing on mass vaccination.
