Schools closed two weeks back in March. They’ve been open ever since.

Alas. You can’t grasp the concept. So you channel your vitriol against teachers.

Wonderful example you’re setting for your offsprings.

Ahhh, yes. The "you are getting an education...just not the education you'd like" reply. The tragically dumb argument that had its expiration date back in September.

DP. How exactly is the argument "tragically dumb"? I am a parent and I think that the second poster is spot on, and that you're the one who is "tragically dumb" with your failure to be a good parent to your kids.

Where is the vitriol against teachers?

Schools should be open for in person instruction. It has been demonstrated across the country to be safe. Teachers and staff are not getting sick at a higher rate if they are teaching in person. Mitigations work.

+1 if anything, teachers are getting a good deal because they get to get the vaccines early. That’s a good thing and now they can resume their normal lives even outside of work.

Got it. I'll bucket you with the PP above then. Do you have any more flawed and cliched arguments you'd like to contribute?

What was the result of the bill?

1. Children transmit the virus just as much as adults.

2. The pandemic is driven by asymptomatic cases.

3. This means open schools buildings are accelerators of viral spread. You can have zero cases in school, but still spread the virus into the community because of points 1 and 2.

4. Our case numbers have done nothing but increase in recent weeks due to the Holidays and people staying indoors in the winter. If we add more cases, our hospitals won't keep up.

I trust the CDC more than you:

Link to CDC report, dated January 13, 2021:

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/pdfs/mm7003e1-H.pdf

“CDC recommends that K–12 schools be the last settings to close after all other mitigation measures have been employed and the first to reopen when they can do so safely.”

It’s in sub-committee. Click on OP’s link for updates.

And it could stay in subcommittee for a long time.

From what I understand, similar bills are coming at the committee level. The thing to watch is the level of support, which at the sub committee was 2-2 (with Howell not present or not voting or something).

The Korean study says children over 10 transmit at the same rate as adults but those under 10 at a much reduced rate. So much disinformation

Maybe you can give up your spot in the vaccine line for someone who’s been working in person this whole time then, like a grocery store or retail employee!

Getting the first dose of the vaccine before having to start back at work is a huge job perq. Literally ONLY school stafff are getting that kind of consideration.

Address my point or GTFO. Give up your vaccine to someone else.
