How widespread is the boycott against Goya Foods?

Somebody's a little too excited about canned goods. Your exuberance is not going to do Trump any good, and you'll last about as long at this as the average Trumper did fighting Covid.

Well, just for the record I'm a trained chef and I do home cooking, meals and cooking classes for the disadvantaged, kids and the elderly. So yes, I talk to them often about the nutritional value of canned beans, which is a shelf-stable product that is inexpensive and healthy for them to eat.

Only now, I will be firmly endorsing the Goya brand and telling them to look for Goya products, specifically.

If any of this is true, why are you pushing high sodium products to groups that are at risk for hypertension? If you must flog products, the dried beans are low in sodium and cheaper per serving.

Many are illegal immigrants who work on farms; some probably work in restaurants, cleaning the table for you, cooking your food. From what I understand, Trump and Trumpsters want them to leave. I wonder if Trumpsters leave tips, or write on the checks "go back to you where you came from".

PP, please try to keep up. If you'd read the entire discussion instead of just jumping in with your oh-so-helpful comment, you'd know that this chef explains that the canned beans should be rinsed thoroughly. And that that removes 80 percent of the sodium. I learned something; perhaps you could too.

You'd be surprised. I leave generous tips if the service is decent. (It usually is.) I have a couple of Dem friends that I go to lunch with from time to time. (I go with them separately, they do not know each other.) Both are in similar financial circumstances as I am. Both stick to 15%. One of them even has a little card that helps her figure out the 15%. I go for at least 20% --never less.

In my view, it's because most of my D friends are "Karens" who expect everything to be just so in their little world, and like to control everything, including how much income other people get. And my Republican family leaves a dollar per person so the table no matter what they order. It's almost like anecdotes are meaningless.
