No, because we were wearing masks to buy groceries and following a strict hand-washing/wiping down surfaces protocol for that anyway. That’s the riskiest thing we do, and it’s only once a week.
We’re making the trade-off of interacting with other families outdoors only, and not touching or getting too close. Our oldest in particular was really struggling with the lack of social interaction, and given that this thing is for the long haul, we decided we need to decide which low risk activities are worth it and which aren’t. |
Absolutely. The inflammation syndrome that’s hitting kids terrifies me. Plus everyone else seems to be getting more lax. |
My head wants to explode. I’d love to be less vigilant, I really would.
I’m not being paranoid or excessively cautious or risk averse. We have almost no information to go on. Unlike other countries with robust contact tracing and testing, here it’s a crapshoot. I worry about two things: (1) that another wave will hit in the next month or so due to people becoming complacent as things begin to open, or (2) that another wave doesn’t hit right away and people say “I told you the experts were wrong!” and then everything fully reopens and brings on an even bigger second wave. |
You are far from alone. Very far. No one I’ve spoken to feels differently. |
Same here. |
I’m so bored with the politicizing of a pandemic that has killed over 70,000 Americans. It’s boring, guys. The whole “blame the media” parroting is ridiculous. I take advice from my kid’s pediatrician and the CDC. We’re taking all precautions. No hysteria - simple common sense and courtesy. |
+1, except it’s now almost 90,000 dead Americans. |
The Trolls come out at night. |
