Anyone else getting more vigilant/more careful as this virus continues?

Anonymous
My vigilance hasn’t really changed. I’m just very careful like wearing a mask when in a store, using a glove when I use an ATM or pump gas, practice social distancing with friends and always do it outdoors, wash my hands when I come in and keep hand sanitizer in my car and use it whenever I get in. But I’m playing golf using restrictive rules of play and that’s keeping me sane.

Yes, I am getting more attentive and vigilant as well.

The Kawasaki thing is extremely rare get some perspective.

There are 82 reported cases in New York. That’s 10 times more than reported deaths from drop-side cribs in 20 years and they were banned.

That’s my perspective.

Goes to show how mental the ban on drop side cribs is

Kawasaki is thought to be caused by viruses so it’s not surprising, no one gave a shit about sending their kids sick to school before not sure why bc it’s COVID related we should stop the world over a rare condition....

It’s almost comical how easily ppl are manipulated by media coverage over this stuff - clearly ppl were getting complacent so they had to rile ppl up to fear status again. And I’m a democrat and didn’t vote for trump, but I’m as embarrassed at the far left panic police as I am the far right COVID deniers

Oh, please.

What unique perspective do you think you have that I couldn’t spend 5 minutes and find 20 different MEDIA sources that parrot your special and unique POV? What exactly makes your media sources more pure than the ones that are accurately reporting on this virus? Please enlighten us all.

Wear your mask, wash your hands, socialize outside from a safe distance, and vote for the right team in November: we’ll have a vaccine sooner!

Sorry, but it’s unlikely there will be an effective vaccine under either team.

I'm getting slacker except now more fearful of going to store, reality check to day as don't feel great but think it is just a cold or allergies.

I think we all know there won’t be one under trump. I’ll place my vote with the other side.

Yep. We’ve just this week started wearing masks on our walks - 4 year old too. Our neighborhood is not dense and we can socially distance easily, but more and more people have been wearing them. We started to feel uncomfortable.

With al the talk of opening up in the coming weeks I don’t know how we’re going to handle it. Send the kids to daycare or summer camp? Sit in an office with other people all day? No way I’m getting on metro. We’ve only been to the grocery store every couple of weeks for the last couple of months and I shower immediately when I get home.

I’m tired of this, but a long way from easing up. Would be nice if the playgrounds could open though.

No, I am the opposite. I'm getting ready to let my kids play with another kid in our backyard soon. We've all tested positive for antibodies so that give me a little bit more security. Yes, I know technically it shouldn't, but it does.

The difference is that there's really no drawback to banning dropside cribs. Get a regular crib. Now we've banned working and socializaing -- that's actually problematic.

What does trump have to do with a vaccine? There is unlikely to be a vaccine because they usually take years to develop and test. And in many cases, aren't successful (HIV) or very effective (flu).

We flip flopped In our house. I was screaming like chicken little in Feb and early March. I work internationally, so I saw what was going on in Asia. DH thought I was a lunatic and thought nothing of it until we were on total lockdown.

I’m now easing up a little bit - mostly for mental health. He is hyper vigilant and now that we can get delivery for groceries won’t leave the house at all.,,

I do have to say that my family now thanks me for the 5 month supply of toilet paper I bought in February (sorry, not sorry).

Drop sided cribs were wonderful! You have no idea how much easier they were on your back if you have big babies.

And what kind of logic was that anyway?

I was never very vigilant and getting even less so. Seems like I’m not alone. I suspect this whole thing will blow over in a few months. Not a republican. Just watching. Observing.
