No need to run out today! This is just something to keep in mind if coronavirus cases in your state start to spike. It might never happen, so relax for now.

My experience with hurricanes is that, if you want to prep at all, you have to prep when it’s crazy to prep. If you wait until a rational person would prep, you’ll have a diet of maraschino cherries and sweet pickles.

This. I went today to stock the pantry with stuff I would normally be buying, just double of it all.

Not sure if it was a coincidence or poorly stocked shelves, but the tuna was slim pickings, as was the pancake mix, peanut butter and toilet paper.

I was at Giant today (in Montgomery County) and they had tons of tuna, pb and t.p. Not sure what area you are in or if you have a Giant near you but the tuna was all on sale so some stores probably do have slim pickings.

Hope you're able to get what you need.

We have been living week to week, our bank account is frequently overdrawn. Unfortunately our family is not able to help (we’ve helped my MIL even when we couldn’t afford it).

A gift card to a grocery store, I’m not asking for someone to send a random stranger cash. Food Lion, Walmart. Please?

I feel so badly for you. Are you in montgomery county by any chance?

I’m sorry for your situation, pp. why not head to a food bank?

I can’t stock up food from the food bank. And the one here in our county will only let you have three bags. I have been there. Several times over the past few months. And it’s really unfortunate because they only have non perishable stuff and one of my kids has Type 1 diabetes. It’s hard to eat healthy from a food bank. The soups and cereals and starchy stuff really hiked his blood sugar up, even though he active in sports at school. I wish food banks were able to offer healthier options.

Can you post what area you’re in, so people can help recommend possible resources?

I smell a scammer.

Does Amazon Prime do wishlists? Or try to post a regular Amazon wishlist?

I’m not a scammer. I wish I was. Find someone on DCUM that can vet me. I’m not a scammer. And I’m also not in DC.

I could do that as long as my address isn’t public information.

I’m an early 40s mom of 3, I work in IT for a help desk with a DH who can’t work. My oldest son (17) has Type 1 DM with an insulin pump. I’m not a scammer.

It shouldn’t share the address. Post a link if you figure it out.

What area do you live in?
Someone here might know of a resource that wants to help.

I’ll try!! We need things like toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, some frozen vegetables, dog food, just regular household stuff. Even without the corona virus.

Honestly I wish we had one rifle in the house. I’m worried about societal breakdown and looters.

Ladies don’t forget feminine hygiene products! I’m almost out and it would be a huge bummer to run out completely. No fun for anyone.

I've already bought a huge bottle each of motrin and tylenol for my kids, just in case. I have three bottles of Costco Advil scattered around the house for the adults. Tons and tons of Kleenex because we've all been sick this winter and I bought an extra case not realizing I already had one. I'm going to pick up some medical gloves and some masks too. I'm not going to stockpile food yet, but medical stuff, hell yes. That'll be the first thing to get wiped out in the stores when this explodes.
