When a parent comes "with experience" and convinces is the others that ECNL is the golden ticket, people get compelled to follow that dream. That's what messed with the team dynamic. The girls who went to tryout at these clubs were dragged there by their dads. |
| Your kid is not good enough to play ECNL 1. Go ahead play Ecnl 2. Wont get a glimpse of college soccer that way. Coaches all know these are #19 -36 in that specific club and no club around here have that many high level girls. |
| Eh look at it this way FCGB people. You know your club is on the way up when you are getting multiple pages of comments on this board. No shame in losing kids to Bethesda or McLean. They both have lost kids to each other and, being a BSC parent, I know at least BSC has lost a couple ecnl 1 kids to you. Rooting for the little guy honestly. We are going through BSC ECNL 1 through HS but MC could use another strong club and I have heard nothing but good things about you from parents I know there. |
Haha. Laughable. |
This is laughable too. |
Your kid couldn't even get significant playing time at fcgb. we all know who you are and yep your one ding dong of a parent. I feel for the sideline of whatever team takes you in. |
Here is the thing wingnut. I have no dog in this fight. I do know BSC and McLean parents obsess on this board and I know if an FCGB kid shows up on my team I am going to immediately send this thread to my coach. Your kid better be real good. In the meantime I ll contact the parents of the FCGB kids I know to find out who you are. Better hope that offer is firm |
P.S. If there are enough FCGB kids making top ECNL teams around here that you think you can remain anonymous then I have vastly underestimated that club |
Ha. Never thought I would say this you go Bethesda or McLean parent |
|
unless your child is going to walk on at a lower tier D3 school and play because she enjoys the game, it is extremely obvious to anyone with soccer experience if she's good enough to play at a higher level or not.
let her enjoy the high school years with her friends and have a life afterwards. |
A soccer parent with some sense. There are multiple clubs and teams for a reason. |
| The obsession with ECNL is unhealthy. We are talking about girls soccer, right? Maybe parents should focus more on spending extra money on developing the skills needed to succeed in college and life, and let the kids play the sport they love without the pressure of having to be developed by 16. As for scholarships, they’re few and far between, they’re not that much, and by the time you MAYBE get one, you’ve spent that money on extra training, hotels, and travel expenses to cart around the country for ECNL. Can you imagine how much better off these kids would be if similar resources and time were put into actual education? |
| ^^^^ I find these parents annoying. Any parent with a kid looking to play at the next soccer understands the scene. They are looking to play at the highest level possible. FCGB is not the only team that loses players to ECNL or GA/DA at u15/u16. The reality is that kids want to play against the most competitive teams and with the best players. Unless FCBG gets into ECNL or GA, it will always have this problem. It is the nature of the beast. Also, MoCo doesn't have more good clubs because the talent is lacking. |

It is clearly drama. Hopefully your histrionics are done soon. I don't think anyone here is really impressed with your thoughts/comments. But thank you for trying to save us all. Really appreciate it. |
