Grandpa from Cruise ship tragedy charged

That is my reasoning too. Disgusting and awful all around.

Either he set her at the open window for a particular reason, or he is too stupid/lacks so much common sense that the parents should be held accountable for leaving their daughter with him. Since that makes no sense, he obviously knew the window was open.

So sorry that their little ploy to get money out of this isn't going to work. I bet they have lost a lot of friends because of their actions. I would have a hard time being friends with someone who acted like they have.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. And the family has acted stupid since the second grandpa chose an open window to prop his granddaughter on

Is anyone else still really confused how he couldn't have realized the window was open?! I played this scenario out multiple times in my head when it first happened, and I never could figure out how he wouldn't have known. Even before he got close to the window, he should have been able to tell it was open. It just makes zero sense. I wonder how much their despicable lawyer put these ideas in their heads.

Some people aren't worthy of living, and lawyers like him are a prime example

That is the crux of the issue IMO. I don’t think he meant her harm. But I think he knowingly and foolishly set her on an open window ledge to let her see out. And she somehow got free. He later changed to the “didn’t know the window was open” defense. This lines up with eyewitness accounts.

Agree. They were wholly sympathetic until they hired the sleezebag and started slinging mud.

he is actually the mother's stepfather, not father. Not that it matters, but he's not blood related to Chloe.

Yup. I mean, I'm still sympathetic that they lost their child. But they disgust me

I've been on a Royal Caribbean cruise and you DEFINITELY know when the window is open. The closed windows are tinted and not perfectly clear. Also, even in port, you would feel a breeze. He is either really clueless or just wast being super careless. I don't think he meant for her to fall, but he put her in the window knowing it was open and meant to hold on to her, but she wiggled I'm guessing.

Of course. I just meant they were nothing but sympathetic before...now the feelings are mixed.

My god, isn't inadvertently killing his own granddaughter punishment enough??

I don't think he needs to be put in jail over this!!

It was a horrible fluke tragedy.

But why do they have to sue then??

Because they are disgusting people who are being managed by an even more despicable lawyer.

probably because they are deep in grief and lashing out in anger.

Doesn't mean they will win. A judge could toss it out as being frivolous.

Also doesn't mean he should be charged with a crime or put in jail.

I wonder if he propped her up, got distracted by something, and accidentally let her go or turned from her and she fell. There is no way he didn't know the class wasn't opened. It's just not possible
