WUSA scrubbed all videos of dreadlock hoax and denies Mikea Turner's family friends disclosure?

You are comparing a ref's rule book call that actually DID happen to a child lying about being physically held down by 3 boys and having her hair cut off.

A rule book call is not a hate crime. A wrestler reluctantly agreeing to cut his hair in order to compete in a match is not an assault. It may be a questionable rule and a questionable call but refs make bad rule book calls all the time.

What happened with this girl is not the same thing AT ALL. Mikea and the rest of the media acted as judge, jury and had convicted those boys of a hate crime on local and national news before the facts of what happened could be corroborated. Since these were minor children involved, the school and the police were extremely limited as to what they could even say about the alleged incident. Mikea knew that and ran with the story anyway.

Mikea Turner is on the air acting as if this never happened. Zero contrition. Real professional shop at WUSA. Millions of people are still convinced this did happen, either because they never heard the back-page corrections or they don't believe the girl's recantation. Many verified social media users were theorizing she was paid off to change her story.

It is people like Mikea who make dash cams, body cams, cameras on the playground so damned necessary. GUILTY unless you prove yourself innocent in Mikea's mind.

Thank God that school had cameras.

It's a good story.

Wow.

It's even more incredible that I expected.

She should be fired.

It's a good story.

Wow.

People were making money all around.

They even had t-shirts made up?

I guess it’s all about the cash, which is often the motivation for many people.

At the very least she and the family should be made to pay for any and all costs of the police and school investigations and the lawyers for the accused boys.

Are you saying that Daily Caller is LYING about Mikea's personal connection to this family? If so, that would be horrible!

You could certainly think that last week.

After this hoax there is a long list of candidates for "worst publication in the world"

Mikea told viewers right after the first interview aired she scored the story because she knew the family - so she was at least open and transparent about that. She seemed genuinely moved by the story, noting she couldn't sleep the night after hearing it. But she should issue an apology.

Did she mention how she knew this family or anything about promoting their hair products? Because that's a pretty relevant detail to leave out don't ya think?

+1.

It's even worse. She used the "I know this family" as a way to give more credibility to the family and the story. She didn't say "viewer beware: these are my cronies"

This makes me so sick to my stomach. This family and reporter were out to completely destroy 3 innocent boys' lives just to further their natural hair agenda.
