Hunter Biden

All of them. Take a look at news accounts at the time.

This is absolutely not true. Maybe every Democrats family? A lot of families raised decent children who are contributing to society, serving this country, don’t drink and don’t smoke. Generalizing everyone based in his own failures sounds crazy to me.

Uh, look at the Opiod stats for red states. Kinda undercuts your thesis.

The most damning thing about this story is that it wasn't written until it could be useful to Trump. If it's a story by all means report on it, but if it wasn't a story six months ago, or three years ago, why is it a story now?

It WAS a story one, and two and three years ago.

Perhaps you need to read beyond Dem propaganda.

See footage of jim jordan and jake tapper. Here is the thing - influence peddling is sleazy. If the R’s intend to deflect with it via this story, dems should be looking not only at trump family but entire ecosystem of hannity/Carlson commentators and anyone rumored to be on or soon to be picked as a legal advisor to T. What to look for? Who has been on the payroll of Rus and Ukrainian oligarchs. Start with Manafirt and Giuliani. It will be like an endless web of mold under a rock.

People like you are the reason why there’s still so much of a stigma associated with admitting to addiction, mental health issues, etc. All it is to you is prove that a person and everyone around them is a failure. We wouldn’t have nearly so much opioid addiction and death in this country if people didn’t fear the judgment of people like you if they admit they’re struggling.

And yes, your family has it’s issues too. It may not be drug or alcohol addiction, but if you truly can’t see any pain or trauma anywhere in the history of your family, you’re probably part of the source of it.

Ho boy are you opening a hornet's nest if you are telling people they haven't done a decent job of raising a family if they have an addict among them.

A conservative elementary school friend of mine just lost a child to a heroin overdose. She's got several other perfectly "decent" children. But I would wager my house that she also saw her dead child as a decent human being, albeit one who struggled mightily over the years.

Also watch Ken Burns's Country Music series. Seems like half the stars in it struggled with addiction and alcoholism, and that includes right wingers and conservatives like Hank Williams Jr and Merle Haggardf (he of the "Okie from Muskogee" fame.) Johnny Cash, who comes across as the most decent of all the stars in terms of his sheer humanity, struggled for years with drug addiction.

Family pain and trauma cut across religion, politics, regional differences, and socio-economic classes. And you are a rare beast if you have NO ONE in your family who has struggled.

The one positive about enduring such pain and trauma is that it gives you much deeper empathy for and understanding of others. Clearly you have missed out on that aspect of the human condition.

I am pp and I agree that it doesn't matter if you are conservative or liberal, but if you raised a criminal or a drug addict, then no, you didn't do a great job raising that child. And no, I am not a rare beast. I come from a large family (I am talking about extended family), and I don't know anyone who is addict. Yes, we have people who drink, but they are not addict. I also have a lot of friends, and know only few who have some type of addiction in the family. So, no, it is not rare.

wow. just wow. You don't have a single member in your family or your husband's family that ever committed any kind of crime? Frankly, I find that impossible to believe. No mental illness at all? No obesity? Not even bullying? really?? you are like some family of Saints? Original Sin never touched your family?

I hope you are joking. You don't know any families who never committed a crime? No, we don't have mental illness, and never been to any kind of therapy. We are generally happy people without any meds. No obesity, not even overweight. But I agree that obesity relates to mental health. We are not Saints. I am looking for people like us just like normal people who enjoy the life as it is. It is not as rare as you make it look like. You really don't have people like us in your circles?

P.S. I am not sure what is the original sin are you talking about.

Well, then you should count your blessings that you and your family are so perfect and worry free and not cast aspersions on others who face pain and issues every day.

I certainly don't know anybody who doesn't have somebody with mental illness, alcoholism, or some kind of drug addiction in their family (not necessary the "nuclear" part of the family, but including cousins, aunts, grandparents etc). If you don't, then maybe have some sympathy for the vast majority of people who do. Just look at our presidents. Bush was an alcoholic for a while. Clinton's brother struggled with addiction. Trump's brother committed suicide. So it seems presidential families are more like mine than yours.

I do count my blessings every single day. I never claimed people who don't do drugs are perfect, so please, don't make that up. No one is perfect. But we all make out choices every single day and we all live with the consequences of our choices.

I am Dem. Don't like Hunter. Haven’t since he took up with his brother’s widow - WTH?

BUT, don’t really care bc I didn’t want Joe to be the nominee anyway. He’s a gaffe machine and too old.
